Amber Fernandez

Amber Fernandez is a Float Coach who brings a thoughtful, player-centered approach to the gym. She has been playing volleyball since sixth grade and brings over 10 years of coaching experience with athletes ages 12 to 18, including club volleyball and her first year of high school coaching at Union.

Originally from the Bay Area, Amber played both high school and club volleyball and continued her career at the collegiate club level while earning a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno. She served as a two-year team captain and one-year treasurer, and after graduating, moved to Oregon to pursue a career in aerospace and reconnect with the volleyball community.

Amber believes volleyball is a powerful tool for developing confident, thoughtful young women. Her coaching focuses on strong fundamentals, curiosity, and understanding the purpose behind each skill. She aims to build players who work hard, think critically, trust themselves, and love the game.
