Nikayla Gonzales

Nikayla Gonzales is the assistant coach of the 13.2 Vancouver team. She brings playing experience that includes three varsity letters in high school and two years at community college, along with multiple seasons coaching JV and assisting varsity at Kings Way Christian High School.

Outside of volleyball, Nikayla is a devoted mom to two young daughters and is pursuing a nursing degree with the goal of becoming a labor and delivery nurse and pediatric diabetic educator. A type one diabetic herself since age two, she draws resilience and empathy from her personal journey to inspire the athletes she coaches.

Her coaching philosophy centers on growth, both athletically and personally. Nikayla creates a supportive yet competitive environment where players are encouraged to take risks, learn from mistakes, and push themselves to improve. She emphasizes fundamentals, purposeful practice, and strong communication, helping athletes develop into skilled, confident, and connected teammates.
