Sarah will coach our 11.1 Empire Vancouver team this season, bringing a strong blend of playing experience, coaching knowledge, and passion for youth development.

As an athlete, Sarah played two years of college volleyball before beginning her nursing career. She has extensive coaching experience, including youth clinics in California, two years at the community college level, and the past three years coaching the 12.1 and 13.1 teams for Lower Columbia Elite.

A 2007 graduate of Mark Morris High School, Sarah was a four-year varsity starter and the program’s libero all four years. She also spent much of her youth competing with Cowlitz Club Volleyball, starting at age nine. After high school, she continued her playing career at Lower Columbia College before transferring to Clark College.

Professionally, Sarah is a Registered Nurse with a background in pediatrics and psychology. She also spent time coaching at Clackamas College and has supported her husband through his active-duty Army career. Now back in Longview, Sarah is excited to reconnect with her hometown volleyball community as both a coach and a nurse. She is passionate about helping young athletes build confidence, mental strength, and a love for the sport.

Sarah’s coaching philosophy emphasizes player development, enjoyment, inclusivity, and life skills. She strives to create a positive environment where athletes can grow both on and off the court, becoming not only strong players but supportive, well-rounded teammates.
