Each coach is carefully selected not only for their technical expertise, but also for their commitment to creating a positive, growth-minded environment for every player.
We also believe that great coaching is built on collaboration. Each of our teams is led by a carefully selected coaching pair. These coaches work together to provide athletes with a well-rounded and dynamic learning experience. 10.1 Empire Head Coach - Vancouver, WA.
Quin will be leading our 10.1 Vancouver team this season! He brings more than a decade of volleyball experience, both as a multi-position athlete and a dedicated coach.
Quin played three years of club volleyball with SVC before competing collegiately at Graceland University and Corban University. His background includes time as a middle, outside, setter, and libero, and he continues to stay active in adult RC4s, beach volleyball, and men’s 6s.
With 13 years of coaching experience at the club, high school, and college levels, Quin’s coaching philosophy balances hard work with a genuine love for the sport.

10.1 Empire Assistant Coach - Vancouver, WA.
Taylor will be assisting our 10.1 Empire Vancouver team this season! She brings over a decade of volleyball experience both on and on the sidelines as a coach. She grew up in Folsom, CA, playing as a libero and competing all four years on her high school varsity team.
She has five years of club coaching experience in California at different age levels and seven years of high school coaching at Camas High School.

Sabah is coaching our 11.1 Empire team in Beaverton this season! She brings strong competitive experience as both a collegiate libero and a growing leader in the high school and club coaching community.
Sabah played four years of varsity volleyball at Athena as a libero before continuing her career at Warner Pacific University, where she competed for two additional seasons. This year marks her fifth year coaching, with experience across multiple age groups and competitive levels. She spent four years coaching at Athena and currently serves as the Varsity Head Coach at Southridge High School.

Kari will be assistant coaching our 10.1 Empire team in Beaverton this season! She brings a strong competitive background as a former collegiate athlete and a passion for teaching the game to young players.
Kari played volleyball at Northern Michigan University, where she was a two-time All-Conference and All-Region selection and competed in two NCAA Division II Final Fours.

Sarah will coach our 11.1 Empire Vancouver team this season, bringing a strong blend of playing experience, coaching knowledge, and passion for youth development.
As an athlete, Sarah played two years of college volleyball before beginning her nursing career. She has extensive coaching experience, including youth clinics in California, two years at the community college level, and the past three years coaching the 12.1 and 13.1 teams for Lower Columbia Elite.
A 2007 graduate of Mark Morris High School, Sarah was a four-year varsity starter and the program’s libero all four years.

Erin will be assisting our 11.1 team in Vancouver this season! She brings extensive experience as a setter at both the high school and collegiate levels, along with a passion for developing young athletes.
Erin played volleyball from 6th through 12th grade on her high school and club teams. She continued her career in college, spending her freshman year at New Mexico State University as a setter/libero before transferring to Colorado Mesa University, where she spent the remaining college years as a setter! Over the past three years, Erin has coached youth volleyball at various levels, including elementary, middle school, and high school club teams. Last year, she joined the Aspire Family!

SueAnn “SuSu” McWatters will be head coaching our 12.1 and 16.1 teams this season! She brings decades of competitive experience and a passion for helping athletes reach their full potential.
She began playing volleyball recreationally in high school and stepped into competitive play in college. Since then, she has developed expertise in 6s, 4s, coed, and women’s volleyball, competing at adult nationals multiple times. She continues to play at a high level in adult tournaments and leagues, often alongside former players she has coached.

With eight years of playing experience, Emma is excited to step into a coaching for the first time. She currently works as an MRI tech and loves staying active through volleyball, running, and other fitness pursuits.

Katie is our wonderful head coach for the 12.2 Vancouver team! She brings over a decade of playing experience and six years of coaching athletes across multiple age groups.
Katie grew up in Vancouver and graduated from Prairie High School before continuing her volleyball career at Southern Oregon University, where she played as an outside/opposite hitter while studying Biology and Health Exercise Science. After college, she coached and worked in corporate health and fitness in the Bay Area before returning to Vancouver last year. Katie is also an Aspire NW Alum!

Tiffany is the head coach of the 12.1 team and assistant coach for the 13.1 team. She brings 19 years of coaching experience across club, high school, and middle school programs. Tiffany has guided athletes to multiple regional championships and national qualifier successes, including recent victories with 12s teams at the 2024 and 2025 MEQ and Far Western tournaments.
A four-year varsity player at Valley Catholic and a four-year starter at Western Oregon University, Tiffany earned all-league and all-conference honors as both an outside hitter and libero. Her experience as a versatile player informs her coaching and dedication to developing well-rounded athletes.

Liz Banta is the head coach for our 12-2 Beaverton team. She played volleyball at La Salle High School, Linfield College, and the University of Nottingham. Liz brings over 15 years of coaching experience, including head coaching at La Salle High School with multiple State Tournament and Championship appearances, and coaching 12U club teams, most recently with Rose City VBC.
Liz is a former educator and now owns several businesses in Gladstone, Oregon, including a coffee shop and a consignment shop. She and her husband have two children, Ruby and Charlie, and enjoy coaching, attending their kids’ sporting events, camping, boating, and traveling.

Patty Jayne is the head coach for our 13-1 team in Vancouver. She played collegiate volleyball at Portland State, winning a National Championship, and also competed in volleyball and basketball at the University of San Francisco. In high school at St. Mary’s Academy, she helped lead her teams to state championships in both volleyball and basketball.
With over 35 years of coaching experience at all levels, Patty has served as head coach at the University of Portland and Pacific University, assistant coach at the University of Oregon and Ohio State University, and coached high school programs including St. Mary’s Academy, Central Catholic, and LaSalle.

Paige will be assistant coaching our 13.1 Empire Vancouver team this season. Paige brings a wealth of experience from her multi-sport background in both volleyball and softball. She played club volleyball for Rose City and NW Juniors and went on to play college softball at Corban University. Paige has now been coaching for eight years across club volleyball, tournament softball, and school sports.
Volleyball is one of Paige’s greatest passions, alongside softball and staying active.

Jim Sparks will be leading our 13.2 team with over 30 years of coaching experience across multiple sports. While his volleyball journey began in 2012, sparked by his daughter’s love for the game, his coaching roots go back to 1987, including fast pitch softball, basketball, baseball, and track.
Since 2012, Jim has focused on volleyball, coaching athletes from U12 to U18 at various clubs, while also serving as a USA Volleyball Regional Official and high school referee. He brings a deep understanding of athlete development and a commitment to building a positive, supportive team culture.

Nikayla Gonzales is the assistant coach of the 13.2 Vancouver team. She brings playing experience that includes three varsity letters in high school and two years at community college, along with multiple seasons coaching JV and assisting varsity at Kings Way Christian High School.
Outside of volleyball, Nikayla is a devoted mom to two young daughters and is pursuing a nursing degree with the goal of becoming a labor and delivery nurse and pediatric diabetic educator. A type one diabetic herself since age two, she draws resilience and empathy from her personal journey to inspire the athletes she coaches.

Michelle brings 21 years of coaching experience to our 14.1 team. She grew up in Southern California, played six years of top-level club volleyball, and competed collegiately on an NAIA scholarship, where she still holds multiple program records.
She has spent the last 13 years as the Head Volleyball Coach at Camas High School and has coached at the collegiate level, high-level club programs, All-State teams, and national camps. With a Master’s in Education, Michelle also teaches at Camas High School and serves as a professor at Central Washington University.

Sammy is coaching both our 14.2 and 15.3 teams. She has six years of playing experience in both indoor and beach volleyball and has been coaching club volleyball since she was 16, making this her ninth season.
Outside of volleyball, Sammy is passionate about baking, traveling, attending concerts, and reading. Her coaching philosophy focuses on leading athletes with strength, understanding, and drive.
She emphasizes that the effort players put in directly affects what they get out of the game, helping them become their best selves both on and off the court.

Lauren Johnson is our wonderful assistant coach for 14.2 Vancouver! She has been involved in volleyball since middle school, continued playing in high school and college intramurals, and still enjoys getting on the court today.
Lauren has five years of high school coaching experience and is passionate about helping athletes grow in skill, confidence, and their love for the game.
Originally from North Carolina and having also lived in Florida, Lauren is still getting acclimated to life in the Pacific Northwest. In her free time, she enjoys traveling with her husband, spending time with family, reading, and tackling a good puzzle.

Myah is the head coach this season of our 14.3 team in Vancouver! Myah has been playing volleyball since 7th grade, competing in school, club, and beach, with setting as her primary position — a role she still plays in adult league today. This season marks her 3rd year with Aspire and 4th year coaching overall, with experience at a middle school in Bellingham and Evergreen High School here in Vancouver.

Rylee Butler will be assisting our 14.3 team, bringing her love for volleyball and dedication to player growth to every practice and tournament. She played all through middle and high school, including four years of club volleyball, and has three years of coaching experience.
Rylee enjoys spending her free time reading, cuddling with her dogs, and going on walks or playing with them.

Tate is our 14.4 head coach this season in Vancouver! She played at Skyview High School all four years before competing in college volleyball at Edmonds College (2020–2022) and Benedictine University of Mesa (2022–2025), primarily as an Opposite and Outside, with some experience in back row.
This is Tate’s fifth year coaching club volleyball and her second as a head coach. She began at NW JRS Elite in Seattle, spent two years at EVJ VBC in Mesa, Arizona, and has now coached two years with the Aspire NW Family.

Kristy will help coach our 14.4 Vancouver team this season, bringing a lifelong passion for volleyball and a strong youth coaching background.
She played as an outside hitter in middle and high school before competing at the NCAA Division III level. Kristy then spent 16 years playing in USAV adult women’s leagues at the A/AA level across Boston, Chicago, and Philadelphia, including tournaments nationwide and Nationals.

She focuses on teaching solid fundamentals, encouraging teamwork, and helping players believe in their potential. Sarah Wright is our absolutely amazing 13.3 Head Coach in Beaverton. She played club volleyball for Portland Volleyball Club (PVC) and competed for four years at Jesuit High School. She has coached her daughter’s CYO team for three years and previously coached in the 14s pod at Athena.
Sarah works as a registered dental hygienist and also substitutes in the Beaverton School District as a para educator providing reading intervention. She enjoys reading and spending time with her extended family on weekends, and she is excited to coach alongside her husband, Tres, this season.

Jessica Binkerd is our amazing 14.2 Assistant in Beaverton! She has been playing volleyball since 5th grade and competed seriously from middle school through high school, playing as a defensive specialist, setter, and right-side hitter. Izzy Flores is joining Aspire as the assistant coach for our 14.3 team. She brings 12 years of playing experience across high school, club, and beach volleyball, along with two years of club head-coaching experience.
Izzy is currently a senior at PSU earning her BFA with a minor in psychology, working toward becoming an Art Therapist. She also works as a registered behavior therapist supporting children with ASD, and she brings that same compassion, patience, and dedication into the gym.

Shyanna Davis is the head coach for our 17.1 and 15.1 teams in Vancouver and serves as the Director of Aspire NW Volleyball Club. She began playing volleyball at age 9 and went on to earn a full scholarship to Jackson State University, though a health diagnosis shifted her path to coaching.
Shyanna has extensive coaching experience, starting at the Mississippi School for the Deaf in 2006 and continuing through middle school and high school programs. She led Sandy High School to league championships and top-eight state finishes and helped Jefferson High School achieve its first win in over seven years. Currently, she coaches two Empire-level teams, leading them to nationals for consecutive years.

This season, Amanda will serve as the assistant coach for both the 17.1 Empire and 15.1 Empire Vancouver teams. She brings seven seasons of coaching experience, including five with Aspire NW, and a strong background as both a player and mentor.
Amanda played four years of varsity volleyball at Aloha High School as a setter and middle. She was recruited to set at Concordia University of Portland but ultimately spent all four collegiate seasons contributing as a middle blocker. Her experience in multiple positions gives her a versatile perspective and a deep understanding of the game.

Jordan will be coaching our 15.2 Royal Vancouver team and brings a strong background as both a player and coach. She has 17 years of volleyball playing experience, including six years in club volleyball, and played collegiately at Clark College and this is Jordan’s fifth year coaching club volleyball.
Jordan is a teacher at Clackamas High School and has a 2.5-year-old daughter. Her coaching philosophy is that growth as a person is just as important as growth as a player.

Gina Eliason brings her passion and lifelong love of volleyball to our 15.4 Vancouver team. Over the past 40 years, she has devoted herself to helping athletes grow not just as players, but as people, guiding them through every level of the sport—from middle school and high school programs to competitive club teams of all ages.
Gina also spent 33 years as a Physical Education teacher, bringing her enthusiasm for movement, teamwork, and youth development into both the classroom and the gym. A Vancouver resident since 1992, she is deeply connected to the local athletic community and is a proud parent of two student-athletes.

Georgia Haynes is the assistant coach of the 15-4 team in Vancouver this season. Ramey Gardner brings her love of volleyball and global experience to our 16-2 Royal team for Vancouver. With 20 years in the sport, she has played at Central Catholic High School, at Cal State Stanislaus, overseas in London for a university and semi-pro team, and still enjoys playing in adult leagues for fun.

Madi Souers is the assistant coach for the 16.2 Royal Vancouver team, supporting her sister as head coach. She brings over 10 years of playing experience and a deep passion for volleyball. Her competitive journey began in high school, where she played varsity volleyball, and continued in adult leagues throughout college while balancing a demanding pre-med education.

Julia Somers is the heart behind our 16-3 team in Vancouver, bringing her experience and passion for volleyball to every practice. She played five years of club and school volleyball and continued her career at Lewis & Clark College for two years. Julia has been coaching with Aspire for five years and loves helping athletes grow their skills and confidence.
Originally from Northern California, Julia moved to the PNW for college and graduated from Lewis & Clark in 2019. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Biomedical Engineering at OHSU. Outside of school and coaching, she enjoys gardening, thrifting, being creative, and spending time at home with her husband Trevor and their three cats.

Kayley Andersen is assisting our 16.3 Vancouver team, bringing her passion for volleyball and athlete development to every practice. She played at Clackamas High School and continued her volleyball career in college at Oregon Tech, and this is her third year coaching with Aspire.
Outside the gym, Kayley works as a labor and delivery nurse and enjoys spending time outdoors.
Her coaching philosophy centers on building young women’s confidence both on and off the court, helping them grow as athletes and as individuals.

This season, Michelle leads our 16.4 Force team in Vancouver! She brings decades of volleyball experience and a lifelong passion for the game. She has been coaching high school volleyball since 2002 and has spent the past three years coaching middle school teams and Aspire club teams.
Volleyball is truly a family affair for Michelle—she has played alongside her husband since high school, and their 15-year-old daughter has grown up surrounded by volleyball, becoming part of the sport’s amazing Ohana in Maui.

Rick brings experience and a lifelong love of volleyball to his role as assistant coach for the 16.4 Force. With over 20 years of coaching high school teams and the past three years with Aspire club volleyball, Rick knows how to help players grow both on and off the court.
A lifelong player himself, Rick has competed in gyms, sand, and grass leagues since high school. He’s a devoted fan of the sport, with a sharp eye for technical form, the mental side of the game, and creating a positive, supportive environment for every athlete.

Sue Baer is the head coach for our 16-1 Beaverton team. She played collegiate volleyball for four years at CSU Sacramento and brings extensive coaching experience, including six years at Lincoln High School (two as an assistant, four as varsity coach) and three years coaching club volleyball. Aspire NW marks her fourth year coaching with the club.
A California native, Sue moved to Portland to raise her three children with her husband, Mike. When she’s not coaching or working as a physical therapist, she enjoys hiking, cycling, and exploring all that the Pacific Northwest has to offer.

This season David will be coaching our 16.2 Royal team in Beaverton. David brings extensive experience as both a player and coach. He grew up in upstate New York, played for the Rochester Pace Bootlegger Volleyball Club, and competed at the Division I college level as a four-year starter and team captain.
David has coached club volleyball, including the 16.3 team at Oregon Juniors, and spent over a decade coaching his sons’ youth sports.

Sydney Means is our wonderful Head Coach for our 16.3 team in Beaverton! She has been playing volleyball since age 9, including two years of beach volleyball at a junior college and club volleyball at Washington State University. She continues to play in adult leagues and tournaments.
Sydney has five years of coaching experience, including four years coaching club volleyball across all ages from 10s to 18s.
Born and raised in Southern California, Sydney moved to Washington and graduated from Washington State University. In her free time, she enjoys playing volleyball, spending time with friends and family, and exploring the Pacific Northwest.

Shyanna Davis is the head coach for our 17.1 and 15.1 teams in Vancouver and serves as the Director of Aspire NW Volleyball Club. She began playing volleyball at age 9 and went on to earn a full scholarship to Jackson State University, though a health diagnosis shifted her path to coaching.
Shyanna has extensive coaching experience, starting at the Mississippi School for the Deaf in 2006 and continuing through middle school and high school programs. She led Sandy High School to league championships and top-eight state finishes and helped Jefferson High School achieve its first win in over seven years. Currently, she coaches two Empire-level teams, leading them to nationals for consecutive years.

She was recruited to set at Concordia University of Portland but ultimately spent all four collegiate seasons contributing as a middle blocker. As an undersized hitter herself, she loves helping athletes realize that hard work and commitment can allow them to excel in any position.

Pati has six years of club coaching and five years at the collegiate level, including four years coaching NCAA Division I. She is known for her competitive mindset and ability to elevate players’ performance, preparing them for the next level.

Celena Maxwell is the assistant coach for our 18-2 team in Vancouver! She played volleyball at Reynolds High School as a three-year varsity starter and went on to compete at Clackamas Community College and NCU (now Bushnell University). Celena also played club volleyball with Nike NW Juniors growing up.
This is Celena’s 8th season coaching club volleyball and her 2nd year with Aspire NW. She has experience as both a head coach and assistant, and has worked camps and clinics throughout her career, including helping out at Clackamas CC.
